The most popular timing system for the motorcycle 4-stroke engines consists of the inverted tooth chain, or silent chain, better- know as “Morse chain” from the name of the world's largest manufacturer of these chains.
The characteristics of the Morse Silent Chain are:

in order to meet perfectly the demands of the motorcycle engine makers for a chain which is light, compact, low noise and affordable when it delivers power at some speed rotation higher up to 14000
rpm.
The whole Morse Silent Chain range features the exclusive ‘M' specification. It consists of an advanced heat treatment that increases the hardness of the pins surface and of a new assembling technology. This improves the wear and fatigue resistance, which means the minimum elongation of the chain even in case of heavy working conditions.
The Morse Silent Chain for motorcycle engines are manufactured in Japan by Borg Warner Morse TEC, leader in the world with more than 90% of market share. They are used not only as timing chain, but also for other drives like primary, oil pump, counter shaft, camto-cam
as well as rear transmission as scooter and snowmobile.
