Product information

Dp steel clutch intermediate discs

Friction plates made of steel Dp represent a precision product manufactured with extremely strict tolerances. They undergo heat treatment to ensure maximum durability, ensuring they are able to withstand the most demanding conditions. Their high-quality construction prevents oil contamination, ensuring efficient and long-lasting operation.

Dp is a European brand that combines performance needs with a more affordable price, offering a quality solution for your motorcycle's clutch system. With steel intermediate friction plates from Dp, you can rely on reliable and durable components to optimize your motorcycle's performance without compromises.

Steel and aluminum intermediate friction plates differ in terms of material and performance. Here are the main differences:

1. Weight:
- Aluminum intermediate plates: lighter than steel plates, they can be preferred as they contribute to a faster engine response.
- Steel intermediate plates: heavier than aluminum plates can help provide greater flywheel mass and rotational inertia.
In enduro, where you face more technical, slow, and challenging terrains, the heavier steel intermediate plates can help maintain consistent traction, especially in situations like trails or uphill paths.

2. Durability and Strength:
- Aluminum intermediate plates: These plates are made of aluminum, known for its lightweight nature but less resistance to wear and deformation compared to steel. Although lightweight, aluminum is more susceptible to scratches and wear, especially when subjected to heavy loads or extreme conditions.
- Steel intermediate plates: These plates are made of high-quality stainless steel. Steel offers greater resistance to wear and thermal deformation compared to aluminum.

When to replace friction plates:
• When the clutch slips.
• The clutch lever feels soft or spongy.
• Difficulty in shifting gears or unusual noises.
• Notice a loss of power or reduced performance.

Perform periodic inspections, usually every 20-30 hours of riding or more frequently based on usage.
Conduct a visual inspection for obvious damage or excessive wear.

We recommend checking, before installation, the measurements of the complete clutch package by referring to your motorcycle's instruction manual. Also, inspect the wear status of the spring plate and the hub base, as such wear could undermine the clutch package replacement operation.

The replacement frequency depends on usage intensity and riding conditions.

For installation, follow the motorcycle manufacturer's instructions, referring to the user and maintenance manual.
